Bayero University, Kano students were on tuesday trained on how to use facebook to create business online and sustain it.

The program was organised by Dice Box Hub as part of its effort towards engaging students on online marketing and businesses using the opportunities offered by the internet.

Informedia gathered that, the aimed of the program is to equip students with adequate knowledge on how to start online businesses, while in school and to help them curb the menace of unemployment after school.

Speaking to informedia, the head of Marketing and Public Relation, (Dice Box Hub) Maryam Abbas Abdulkadir explained that “The purpose of the program is to train students on how to create personal online business and maintainance, and to also improve job creation so as to be self reliant during and after school”.

One of the participat from Accounting Department who spoke on condition of anonymity expressed optimism that, “the program will avail the opportunity to start online business while in school and if what was learnt is put into practice will reduce the burden of unemployment on government.

A level 200 student with the Department of Information and Media Studies, Nana Hafsat Ahmad, has this to say ” As a prospective digital journalist, the training will boost my mental capacity on how to create, maintain and manage online business”
