ASUU in Kano Keeps Mute on IPPIS Compliance

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) in Kano state has sealed their lips on whether or not members will comply with the federal government directives on registration into the integrated payment and personal information system (IPPIS).

The federal government has mandated the academics union and other workers in the federal institutions to key in the integrated payment system beginning from Monday or risk the consequences.
However, the university lecturers in the last two week has rejected the federal government, insisted that the order was against the law that established the university autonomy.

The Chairman of ASUU Bayero University Kano chapter, Professor Ibrahim Barde, while addressing journalists a few weeks ago, vowed to resist any attempt by the federal government to force the union to register with IPPIS.
Barde has raised an alarm that the federal government was planning to victimize ASUU members including stoppage of salary if rejected the directives.
Following the federal government renewed directives to ASUU on IPPIS registration, PRIME TIME NEWS Correspondent in Kano attempted to speak with Professor Barde was not successful because several calls put across his mobile phone line were not responded to.
