BUK Promotes 27 Senior Academics to Professors, 40 Associate Professors
INFOMEDIA – The 14th Governing Council of the University led by Udoma Udo Udoma, at its maiden meeting held on September 6, 2021 approved the appointment of 27 senior academics to the rank of Professors and 40 others to Associate Professors respectively.
According to a statement by the University’s acting registrar and secretary to the council, Jamil Salim, the promotions were with effect from October 1, 2020.

Those promoted are; Dr. Talatu Muhammad Barwa, Dean Dangote Business School as (Professor of Business Administration), Dr. Mohammed Yerima Kwaya, Deputy Dean FEES, (Professor of Geology (Hydro geology), Dr Aminu Lawal Auta (Soja) (Professor of Hausa Literature), Dr. Aliyu Usman Dutsinma, (Professor of Medical Microbiology), Dr. Sani Musa Ayagi (Professor of Qur’anic Science and Professor Abdussamad Muhammad Abdussamad (Professor of Animal Physiology).
Others are Dr. Shamsuddeen Umar (Professor of Micro Biology), Dr. Bello Gambo (Professor of Economic Geography) and Dr. Muhammad Yusuf Waziri (Professor of Applied Mathematics).
Those promoted to the rank of Associate Professors include Dr. Tijjani Muhammad Naniya (History), Dr. Kasim Mohammed (Civil Engineering), Dr. Umar Sani Fagge (Arabic), Dr. Nafisa Yusuf Wali (Physiology), Dr. Lubabatu Bello Dankadai (Private and Commercial Law), Dr. Isa Yusuf Chamo (Linguistics and Foreign Languages) and Dr. Ahmad Makama Getso (Science Technology Education).
