The College of Health Sciences, Bayero University, Kano, organized harmonized induction ceremony of the 7th and 23 sessions for Bachelors of Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Radiography, Nursing Sciences and
th Physiotherapy graduands on 19 February, 2020 at the Convocation Arena, New Campus.

In his speech at the occasion, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello, represented by the
Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Professor Adamu Idris Tanko, said “Education is the root of directing
individual’s way of life.

As you are being inducted today, I would like to challenge you to seek more knowledge so as to acquire a lot of knowledge that may lead you to be more relevant in your field of study in serving humanity”

The Guest Speaker, who is the Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, College of Medical Sciences, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Professor Shehu Abubakar Akuyam, charged the inductees to be sincere, honest,
hardworking, humble and obedient.
According to him, as health workers the possession of these qualities are fundamental to their success.

He equally advised them to abide by the ethics of their respective profession. He said acquiring a degree was not enough for the practice of their respective
profession.

They also need to equip themselves with requisite ideas and skills, which could be achieved through continuing medical education, continuing professional development and other related programmes.

He said the practicing licenses given to them were for just one year as part of training under close supervision and guidance by qualified andexperienced professionals.

Earlier, the Dean, Faculty of Allied Health Sciences, Dr. Abdullahi Sale Kumurya, said, “I would like to commend the University management for the support given to the Faculty through successful training of our graduands that we are celebrating today.

I advise them to execute their
professional work based on ethical principles that guide their respective professions so as to achieve their main
objective of serving humanity”.

The Dean admonished the inductees to fear Allah in all their undertakings, saying that, a medical practitioner is a to all.
