The Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Alhaji Muhammad Sabo Nanono has solicited for a strong partnership between his Ministry and Beyond Oil Initiative Nigeria (BOIN) in boosting agribusiness development and job creation in the country.
Nanono sought for the partnership when the Beyond Oil Initiative Nigeria team led by the National Programme Coordinator, Adanma Ogumka Ekeji paid a courtesy visit in his office in Abuja recently.

The Minister believes that the programme would achieve some of the goals of the current administration’s next level agenda in the agricultural sector as well as to create the desired value chain and promote global market access of Nigeria-branded products with massive job creation among others.

The Minister said that there is need to promote global best packaging methods and branding of the products towards ensuring global market penetration.

Earlier in her remark, the National Coordinator of BOIN, Adanma Ogumka-Ekeji had informed the Minister that the programme was working in partnership with Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufuikwo Alike in Ebonyi State, the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD) and other international organizations to achieve the set goals.

The National Coordinator further explained that they also had market access specialists and experts working with leading global institutions and the government to develop and take back domestic and export markets of indigenous commodities which have been taken by other countries and thereby making Nigeria a dumping ground for inferior quality products.
