Gombe state Governor Inuwa Yahaya has appointed former Kano State Police Commissioner, CP Mohammed Wakili as Special Adviser on Security.

CP Wakili was a popular Kano police commissioner who exhibited rear honesty and dedication to duty as police officer.

Police in Nigeria are known for notoriety, dishonesty and mostly brutal in their operations.

CP Wakili was described by many spectators as exceptionally honest and dedicated while in service.

The governor has also appointed 18 commissioners and six additional advisers 125 days after his inauguration.

The governor was sworn in on May 29th but was yet to form cabinet.

The governor has earlier said the list of his commissioners would be ready before October 1st.

The names of the 18 commissioners designate were not yet public.

Some of the appointees include; Dijatu Bappah, Special Adviser, Social Investment, Alh. Garba Jijji Gadam, Special Adviser, Inter- Governmental Relations, and Geoffrey Namu Birba, Special Adviser, Drugs and Narcotics.

Others were, Col. Sani Adamu Dabsiya Rtd, Special Adviser, Security Matters, Hamma Adama Ali Kumo, Special Adviser, House of Assembly Matters and Abubakar Inuwa Tata, Chairman, Fiscal Responsibility Commission.

Media aide to the Governor, Ismaila Uba Misilli said all the appointments were with immediate effect.
