Social media are interactive computer mediated technology that facilitate the creation and sharing of information ideas career interest and other forms of expression via virtual communities and networks.Social media facilitate the development of online social network by connecting a user to those of other individuals or groups.
Furthermore, In July 2012 ,a report was published by the United States institute of peace based on an extensive content analysis of bit.Links from the uprising in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Bahrain, Syria and many more.Links are predominantly used in social media such as Twitter.in this regard the social media is a cause mechanism in the uprising of Arab spring.

In suggestions,our security personnel can use ICT tools to solve crime and insurance attack in Nigeria by providing a broad view of the public security communication systems. The ways that ICT tools that can applied to tackle these issues include, use of accurate sim card registration which it will be easy for NCC to monitor the person who is using the line.
secondly by using surviellance systems of watching the behavior of activities of person, group, organisation and institution that are using social media platform.
Thirdly Intelligence Gathering it helps the security agencies to keep tab on the activities of suspects, groups or organisation likely to breach the peace in the country.
Fourthly by using communication intercepting between terrorist and terror group.
Inconclusive, social media is like a knife that you can use it to slaughter a cow, fry it and eat the meat; and you can also use it to commit murder
