A lecturer with the Department of Information and Media Studies, Bayero University Kano, Saturday, got married to his sweetheart, Shamsiyya Abubakar Aliyu.
Mr. Danja who is also the Departments Exam Officer, took the bride in a low key ceremony on 31st August, 2019.

The wedding which took place at the Atiku Awwal Mosque, Lome Crescent, Uguwar Rimi Low cost, Kaduna, had in attendance dignitaries from all walks of life including the Dean of the Faculty of Communication, Professor Mustapha Nasir Mallam, the Head, Department of Information and Media Studies, Dr. Nura Ibrahim, lecturers and students from various Faculties and Departments.
Speaking to Infomedia at the ceremony, one of his students and also a Senator representing the Department at the Students Representative Assembly, Rilwanu Umar Zauro said “I extend my felicitation to the new couple, My Lecturer and mentor Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Danja and his wife Shamsiyya Abubakar Aliyu, may the Almighty Allah bless the marriage and give the couples wisdom and courage to live peacefully in accordance to the teachings of the Holy Qur’an and Tradition of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).”
Also speaking, a 300 level student of the Department and a very close friend to the lecturer, Yahaya Abdullahi Bawuro stated that “Even though I feel bad that I was not opportune to attend the ceremony, I am very happy for him. I wish the couples a blissful marital fulfilment”
Speaking further, Bawuro said “I wish they live in peace happily ever after because I know my lecturer, friend and mentor is a very good, religious and caring person. I pray the President of the Department should also invite us soon to his own wedding.”
In her own words, another of his student, Binta Iliasu Musawa expressed joy for her lecturer, Binta who said she had known Dr. Danja since her Diploma days expressed optimism that he will live upto his charge as a righteous Muslim husband. She prayed for Allah’s blessings on the couples.
The Head of Department, Dr. Nura Ibrahim who described Danja as his most trusted and reliable friend, Colleague and ally congratulated the couple as they begin their new journey together in fulfilling the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammed (SAW).
He however enjoined them to understand, appreciate and tolerate each other through thick and thin, while also praying for Allah to bless the couples and the marriage for the benefit of mankind and the religion of Islam.
