The Nigerian Association for Educational Administration and Planning (NAEAP) organized a three-day Capacity Building Workshop on Effective Leadership and Management for Women Leaders in Kano State.

The workshop attracted women leaders from ministries, agencies and local governments, which took place at the Convocation Arena of Bayero University, Kano from 11th to 13 September, 2019.

The Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello, who was represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Professor Adamu Idris Tanko, commended NAEAP for organizing the training and said that he was convinced that the female participants would tremendously benefit from the knowledge and expertise on leadership and management strategies that would be relevant to their different areas of operations as leaders and managers.

Prof Bello stated that Bayero University had regarded NAEAP as one of the most valuable catalysts for the national development, saying that it had fundamental functions to play in the march towards making sure that leaders, especially in this era, embrace chances and st challenges of the dynamism of this 21 century.

Kano State Governor, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who was represented by the Head of Service, Alhaji Usman Alhaji said the state government was determined to improve and promote the capacity of women in order for them to be good leaders. He commended NAEAP for organizing the training and said his administration would continue to partner with the association.

Also speaking, the President of NAEAP, Dr. Bello A. Bello, said the training was
organized to empower women with the necessary skills and capacity to be come good leaders and managers in Kano State in view of the challenges women face in leadership and management.

He commended the Kano Stat Government for its support in ensuring that the workshop became a success. Participants interviewed expressed their happiness over the three-day workshop and urged NAEAP to organize a step-down training for others who hadn’t had the opportunity to participate.
