Nigerian Army Pledges More Stronger Ties with BUK

INFOMEDIA – The Commanding Officer of the 73 Battalion, Janguza Barrack, Major Hamza Yahaya Gidado, has expressed happiness over the cordial relationship between his command and Bayero University, Kano assuring for the continued support and assistance with a view to providing additional security cover to the institution.

“Mr. Vice Chancellor sir, we are here to
officially familiarize myself with the
management of the university as the new Commanding Officer of the formation as well as to express our deep appreciation to all the support you have been rendering to us. “Indeed, BUK has been a good friend of the army and we shall In sha Allah ensure that this good policy wax stronger,” he declared.

Major Gidado pointed out that his
command would make sure that it provided additional security cover to the University community being one of the host communities, “because the safety of our host communities will go a long way in strengthening our relationship,” he added.

The Commanding Officer who described education as the foundation of every development noted that University is where you educate people by imparting knowledge through teaching and research, therefore,

“it is our duty to secure this environment for the better society and generations, major Gidado said.

Responding, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello commended the new Commanding Officer for the visit. He assured that the university will do everything possible to support the
command.”We have a good and harmonious relationship between us and we shall continue to support and assist the army where possible.”

The Vice Chancellor disclosed that as part of the deliberate policy, the university had a specialconsideration to all her host communities including the Janguza Barrack communities in terms of admissions and others.
