A total of 12,209 candidates sat for the 2019 Bayero University, Kano Aptitude Test, according to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Adamu Idris Tanko.
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor said on Saturday that 15,817 applied to BUK for the 2019/2020 admission exercise, out of which a total of 12,209 participated in the screening exercise.
The professor expressed satisfaction over the general peaceful conduct of the exercise and said that the screening was very smooth while officials on duty were very dutiful.
He added that the exercise started as scheduled without any hitch and no case of examination malpractice was reported.
The Registrar, Fatima Mohammed, also expressed delight over the arrangements and smooth conduct of the exercise.
She stated that more venues were provided to decongest the crowd, while two situation rooms were provided one each on old and new campuses to decentralize the coordination of the exercise.

He said the screening exercise was conducted in two sessions, morning and afternoon and candidates were accommodated on the basis of their courses.
Similarly, the Director, Directorate of Examinations, Admissions and Records, Amina Umar, who coordinated the screening has disclosed that majority of the candidates were well behaved and properly dressed, noting that no cases of impersonation were recorded.
Some candidates who wrote the screening examination, Ummuhani Ize (B.Sc Biochemistry) and Abubakar Ayuba Abu Sufyan (B.Sc. Architecture) expressed satisfaction with the arrangement made by the university.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Muhammad Yahuza Bello, who went round the screening venues, was also satisfied with the arrangement.
