World NGOs Day: AAG-Foundation Trains 50 Organizations, Empower 100 Women, Distribute PPE’s

INFOMEDIA – The Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Foundation (AAG-Foundation) has marked the 2021 world NGOs Day with various community development activities geared at making a lasting impact on lives and livelihoods.

Earlier, the coordinator of the foundation, Dr. Musa Abdullahi Sufi visited the sickle cell screening centre of the Kano State contributory health care scheme( KACCHIMA) under the BHCPF Program support to vulnerable at the Murtala Muhammad Library where he distributed face masks to help in curbing spread of COVID-19.

In another program, the foundation supported the training of about 50 NGOs on understanding their roles, fundraising, global advocacy practices using social media, personal and organisational safety among others. The program was in partnership with the Kano Network of NGOs and other partners including the media.

Lastly, the chairman of the foundation, professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo who is also the president and founder of Maryam Abacha American University Conglomeration (Niger, Nigeria etc) lunched the recruitment of 100 women into an empowerment to address poverty and better life. This is in addition to the enrolment of more students into a tertiary institution in his home town Sabon Layi, Gwarzo LGA, Kano State.

The event was held during the presidents’ condolence visits to his family over the death of his cousin Nazir Gwarzo.

Other personalities that graced the occasion include representatives from the Niger Republic, MAAUN staff, journalists friends from Nigeria and across the world.

The foundation is funded by the philanthropist Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo.
