Wudil Youth Provides Education for 376 Orphans, Less Privileged

INFOMEDIA – Collective efforts of promising youth in Wudil Local Government of Kano State have created a platform that provides hope for the orphans and less privileged members of the community to have absolute access to education and employment for a better society. This is sequel to the establishment and official launching of the Wudil Youth Congress (WYC)’s community development project today, Sunday, 3rd January, 2021 where the organization established a project called Orphan and Vulnerable Children Educational Endowment Funds (OVEEF) to make youth responsible for addressing the major socio-economic problems that are currently facing the society.

The Chairman, Wudil Youth Congress (WYC), Dr. Umar Shehu Umar noted that Wudil Local Government is blessed with a huge number of graduates, talented and skillful youth with various specializations in local handicrafts as well as growing businesses, massive sources of internally generated revenues to the local authorities through sand mining, fisheries, and abundant arable land. However, with these factual evidences that symbolizes prosperity yet the society’s youth have become less productive; and the level of inequality is highly apparent among the orphans and vulnerable children which as a result the society is only growing not developing. Hence, these necessitated the need for the establishment of Wudil Youth Congress (WYC).

“ We have made robust plans to take care of 376 orphans every year as well as sending our graduates to the schools under our program to reinforce their teachers’ strength. We are also coming up with another project called Wudil Educational Development Project (WEDEP) which aim is to recruits our graduates into voluntary teaching, renovate schools and provide scholarship to our outstanding students, as well as organize debate and quiz competition to create a competitive environment for our students and pupils” The Chairman added.

In the same vein, the organization’s Communication Specialist, Mr. Usman Bello Balarabe added that for development to emerged in every community there is need for contribution of ideas and resources to move the society forward. Collectivism, inclusiveness and participation are key factors towards ensuring mammoth progressive development in a society.

“The realization of potentialities and great minds amongst community members is the beginning process of establishing a new era in another era- an era to bring about positive and progressive social transformation in our community. The establishment of Wudil Youth Congress (WYC) is sequel to the need to fill the lacuna so that orphans and less privileged members could have access to education and employment through a platform which premised on community development for a positive and progressive social transformation”.

Wudil Youth Congress (WYC) is a community development organization open to all whose interest is Wudil and its progress. Each and every member of the community is deemed to be an important stakeholder whose commitment to this movement determines the future we set to establish.
