INFOMEDIA – The Foundation for Social Orientation and Gender Development (FOSOGED), a non-governmental organization based in Kano, collaborated with Bruderhilfe Social Development Initiative to distribute essential items in a charitable event.

FOSOGED’s Chair-Lady, Hajiya Mariya Inuwa Duruminiya, emphasized the organization’s commitment to community service.

The distributed items included 50 mobility carts for persons with disabilities, medical equipment (facemasks, hand gloves, thermometers) for women and children, books for educational institutions, and toys for orphanages.

Hajiya Mariya detailed the specific beneficiaries, including individuals with disabilities, hospitals like Hasiya Bayero Pediatric Hospital, and government-owned educational institutions.

Madam Mary Bruder, the founder of Bruderhilfe Social Development Initiative, highlighted her organization’s efforts in providing humanitarian assistance across Nigeria since 2017, focusing on health, education, and support for persons with disabilities in rural communities. She acknowledged the challenges posed by insecurity in Nigeria but expressed her commitment to giving back to the country.

The Emir of Kano, represented by Alh. Lamido Abdullahi Sunusi, commended FOSOGED for its humanitarian services and thanked Alhaji Ahmad Bashir Borodo for bringing Bruderhilfe foundation to Kano. The Emir urged beneficiaries to use the donated items responsibly and discouraged selling them for personal gain. Khadija Suraj Adamu, speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, expressed gratitude for FOSOGED’s intervention and encouraged other NGOs and philanthropists to support persons with disabilities.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including representatives from ministries, traditional titleholders, academics, and sister NGOs.
