Amotekun, a purported security agency formed by the Southwest states Governors is a threat to the unity of Nigeria as a sovereign state. This is due to the fact that it was not form to only combat crimes, but targeted towards persecuting other peoples and tribes that do not share the same similarities with that region.
One of the aim of the so-called Amotekun is persecuting Fulani Herdmen who are also Nigerians living peacefully and legally coexisting in the region, they also harass other tribes who are resident there or passersby and strangers.

Amotekun agents will be given guns and ammunition so that they can exercise power just like Nigeria Police Force.
So what will happen if they arrest other tribe? it might pose a serious security challenge that might lead to the unknown.
Due to the diversity of different tribes and languages; the Federal Government declined approving the creation of state police because of fears and dangers attached to it which will be mainly trabalistic, and regionalism and this will play a core value to it’s implementation.
Amotekun will just be a machinery for violence if government agree to support its creation.
