INFOMEDIA – The Chancellor of Bayero University, His Majesty, King Papa Alfred Papareye Diette Spiff has paid homage to the Emir of Kano, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero.

The two royal fathers discussed a number of issues including renewed policies and strategies to boost the economy of the country.

According to King Alfred, Kano is the commercial hub of northern Nigeria and if every household will take interest in the farming of mushroom, the economy of the state would be put in the global map, advising the emir, policy makers and other key stakeholders to map out workable strategies that would ensure the realization of mushroom production in commercial quantity.

He stated that a Mushroom Summit has been organized to take place in Abuja to chart possible ways of making Africa sub-region as the hub of mushroom production.

The Bayelsa King maker also drew the attention of the Emir to the fact that sunny climatic condition has given Kano an edge over states in the South, advising that the state should tap this unlimited potential to boost renewable energy to address the danger posed by gas emission.

“In South-South, we are proud to be contributing so much to the natural coffers. But they are waste assets that generate gas emission and pose danger to our environment. We have to devise a new strategy of renewable energy through collaboration with states like Kano to boost production,” said the Chancellor.

The Chancellor had earlier congratulated the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero on his ascension to the throne of Kano Emirate and reiterated his Kingdom’s unwavering desire and readiness to support Kano Emirate in its quest to impact positively on the lives of the people.

The Emir of Kano, His Highness, Alhaji Bayero expressed appreciation over the visit and pledged to be part of the Mushroom Summit which he said would provide an enabling environment for boosting the country’s economy.

He also assured the Chancellor that the Kano Emirate Council would continue to support Bayero University and give it all the necessary assistance to move forward.
