Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has directed for the re-opening of all Viewing Centres in the state, urging them to observe all protocols enunciated by health workers to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

INFOMEDIA reports that this coming a day before Laliga league, that would be followed by some Leagues across Europe, and amid partial lockdown.

The governor gave the directive in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Abba Anwar on Friday.

It said Dr Abdullahi Ganduje made this known when the leadership of Soccer Viewing Centres Association, in Kano, paid him a courtesy call at his office on Friday.

The statement said Ganduje equally distributed Forty Thousand (40,000) face masks for the distribution at viewing centres, so as to strengthen observance of the laid down health protocols.

According to the statement, “It is in line with our decision to see that our economy bounces back, through reinvigorating commercial and other business activities in the state, that I have directed all viewing centres to be re-opened from today.’’

In the statement, the state chairman of the association, Sharu Rabi’u Ahlan commends governor Ganduje’s effort in the state response against COVID-19 pandemic, assuring that, “Your Excellency on behalf of all our members we are appreciative of your unrelenting effort to human development, especially youth, in the state.”
