INFOMEDIA – Properties believed to be worth thousands of Naira have been destroyed in a fire incident caused by gas explosion at Sanya Olu street, Sabon Gari Kano State.
INFOMEDIA learnt that the explosion reportedly occurred at about 8:00pm yesterday night.
An eye witness who crave anonymity revealled to INFOMEDIA that “A gas cylinder exploded while being refilled, although no loss of life has been recorded. The sound of the explosion attracted people within and outside the street of Sanya Olu”

INFOMEDIA gathered that one of the youth that tried to put off the fire before the arrival of the fire fighters and whom identity is yet to be known collapsed due to the smoke that covered the incidence’s vicinity and was taken to the hospital for medical attention.
INFOMEDIA also learnt that the Kano Fire Service on arrival at the scene swung into action and extinguished the inferno.
However, according to eyewitnesses the fire has been put under control, without recording any loss of life.
The financial cost of the properties destroyed by the fire is currently being assessed.
Meanwhile, the spoke person of Kano State Fire Service is yet to comment on the incidence as at the time of compiling this report.
