The Kano state govt has agreed to allow the Eid-el-Fitr prayers to hold across the state after reaching an agreement with Islamic Scholars and Imams on safety measures and protocols to be observing during prayers.

This was announced by Gov Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who held a meeting with the Clerics at Kano State Government House on Monday evening.

‘Government also considers it convenient to allow the conduct of Eid Prayers in all five Emirates in the state under strict observance of safety and prevention protocols”, Mr Ganduje said.

Mr Ganduje also said Friday prayers, which have banned in the state would now be performed with the supervision of Kano State Hisbah Board, which will ensure that all  the safety measures are complied.

He explained that movement will be eased three times in week- on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays adding that the free hours are from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

“In this regard, we have briefed the Hisbah board to hold meeting with Imams and also deploy its personnels to Friday mosques across that state to ensure that the worshippers comply with all the preventive measures and use of hand sanitizers”, he said.
