Outrage Trails Conferment of Traditional Title on Femi Kayode by Emir of Shinkafi
INFOMEDIA – The conferment of a traditional title of Sadaukin Shinkafi on former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode by the Sarkin Gabas (Emir of Shinkafi) Muhammad Isa Makwashe is generating criticisms.
Makwashe had in a statement said the title was conferred on Fani-Kayode because of his support and contribution to the development of the emirate.
But the decision of the Shinkafi emirate did not go down well with many, including a title holder who announced his resignation.
Wife of Kebbi State Governor and daughter of late Alhaji Umaru Shinkafi also reacted to the development. Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu said, in a reaction to a post by Musa Hatim Koko, that “There is nothing 500k cant buy… maybe less.

Dr. Tijjani Salihu Shinkafi, a traditional title holder in Shinkafi, has also reportedly resigned following “the Emirate Council’s shameless decision to confer a traditional title to Femi Fani Kayode.”
A user who simply identified himself as N. Layi Deinde, said: “Fani-Kayode accepts title in Shinkafi, from his erstwhile Fulani sworn enemies. Nnamdi Kanu has also instructed his followers to stop insulting Yoruba people. I wonder what has / is changing. I also pity their blind followership.”
For FS Yusuf, “Imagine the amount of insults the Muslim Northerners have thrown to Fani Kayode and the amount of Insults Christian Southerns have thrown to Matawalle. Today, Fani has a traditional title in Zamfara State.
