Kano state police command has denied ever arresting a human rights activist, Zainab Naseer.
INFOMEDIA recalls that a blogger has claimed on Facebook that the police have detained Ms Naseer for allegedly committing crimes and social vices.
However, Kano state police spokesperson, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa told KANO FOCUS that the story is fabricated.

“This story is false. Our new social media monitoring unit inaugurated by Police Commissioner Habu Ahmed Sani is investigating the matter.
“We will arrest the blogger and prosecute him for the false claims made against both Zainab and the Police Command.” He said.
Mr. Kiyawa, a deputy superintendent of police also cautioned all social media users against creating or spreading fake news.
