MAAUN Now Full Member International Union of Universities As Founder Bags Award of Excellence
INFOMEDIA – The president and founder of Maryam Abacha American University Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo received in audience the leadership and membership certification of International Union of Universities (IUU).
This is contained in a statement signed by the Coordinator, Abubakar Adamu Gwarzo Foundation, Dr. Musa Abdullahi Sufi and sent to INFOMEDIA.
The statement said that the Union was in Kano, Nigeria to pay a global partnership visit to Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) and issue the founder with a membership certificate of the Union after attaining all the stipulated guidelines laid down by the Union’s Governing Board.
The delegation under the leadership of the IUU president in company with the union secretary congratulated the President, Prof. Adamu A. Gwarzo for acquiring the operational license from Nigerian authorities.
It could be recalled that the Federal Government had recently granted 20 new private universities including MAAUN, provisional licenses to operate in Nigeria.
During the visit, the two parties agreed and also established another collaboration and partnership between the International Union of Universities (IUU) and the Association of African Universities (AAPU) headed by its pioneer president Professor Adamu A. Gwarzo.
The IUU also awarded the president with an award of excellence owing to his track record in areas of education and development in Africa while being the youngest founder of the universities in the African region.
The award was also given in addition to his massive contribution through the business unusual model philanthropism across the globe via his foundation Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo (AAG-Foundation) in health, education, water and sanitation as well as supporting women and youth empowerment, peace, NGOs capacity building, governance, scholarships, palliatives and many more.
