The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, has condoled Bayero University, Kano over the deaths of two former DVCs — Dr. Sabo Kurawa (1995–1999) and Prof. Aliyu Umaru Dikko (2004–2006) — as well as Professor Balarabe Maikaba of Faculty of Communication.

“On behalf of the Governing Council, myself and family, I wish to commiserate with the Senate, Vice-Chancellor, Principal Officers, Management, staff and students and the entire University over the sad loss of our colleagues whose services were highly valued and hugely needed in BUK.
” Indeed, all of them were quintessential resource persons and byword for scholastic accomplishments who made notable contributions to the development of the University.
“My heart goes to their families, relations, friends and the entire University Community. We have, indeed, lost illustrious colleagues,” he said.
Prof Gambari prayed to Allah to forgive them and grant their families the fortitude to bear their departure to the world beyond, ameen.
