Members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, otherwise known as Shiites, today in Kano protested the killing of top Iranian commander, Qassem Soleimani of the elite Quds Force, also known as the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), by the United States of America.

They also used the procession to protest governments continued detention of their leader, Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky, and other members.

Children, between the ages of 10 and above with mostly youths, marched through Kofar Famfo, Bayero University Old Campus and Kabuga in Kano Metropolis.

They displayed posters of slain general Soleimani along with Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and chanted continuously, “Death to America,” “Die to Israel,” “freedom for Zakzaky,” “Criminal Buhari,” “Monkey Rufai,” “Animal Ganduje.” “freedom for Zakzaky.”

One of the protesters who refused to identify himself by name said, “we are here to protest America’s act of terrorism against Iran by killing it’s top commander. This is an act that we expect any right thinking country to condemn strongly.”

He further called for the release of their detained leader vowing that they would continue to protest until justice is done.

Leader of the procession who identified himself as Abdul Sheriff alias AZ Virus said they have come out to protest the injustice in the world as a whole, vowing that they would never stop protesting even if they die, others will continue.

According to Abdul, “even if Qassim Soleimani was not a Shiite, we will still protest his unjust killing as long as he is a Muslim.”

While alleging that their scholar has been in illegal detention since the inception of the Bahari Adminstration, Mr. Abdul warned that world authorities should be wary because they would never get away with injustice.

He noted that they are not afraid to die because according to their Creed, life itself is worthless and they have vowed to lay their lives in the cause of Allah.

Recall that early Friday morning the US launched a military strike on Baghdad airport, killing top Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani.

General Soleimani, an iconic figure within Iran, is revered for his leadership in the fight against ISIS.

As the commander of the Quds Force, he was considered to have been one of the most powerful figures in Iran, and played a prominent role in Iran’s foreign policy in the Middle East over the last decade..

The US Defence Department said it took out Soleimani as he travelled in a car near Baghdad International Airport because he “was actively developing plans to attack American diplomats and service members in Iraq and throughout the region.”

In response, Iranian Defence Minister Amir Hatami promised “a crushing revenge,” state news agency IRNA reported .
