UNIZIK VC Stresses Importance Of Research In Varsity
INFOMEDIA – The Vice Chancellor of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Prof Charles Okechukwu Esimone, has called on departments and research units in the university to key into his vision for the university to make it rank among the best in Nigeria, best 10 in Africa and among top 200 in the world.
Esimone said he articulated the strategy code-named Project 200 to focus on drive for academic excellence, productive public/community service, administrative reforms, discipline and advancements.
He spoke at the weekend during a workshop organised by the Ekwueme Centre for Multi-Disciplinary Research with the theme: Multidisciplinary Research: Bedrock for Holistic National Development.
He said he initiated the project because all over the world, universities are known and ranked by the quantity and quality of research emanating from them.
