“There are several challenges many an academic who embarked on acquiring a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) degree face. However, I was able to surmount those challenges and hurdles because I efficiently and properly managed my time. I was also dedicated to carrying out research activities,” says Dr. Muhammad Ibrahim Danja.
In an interview to InfoMedia in his office, he said that his eyes are now set to attaining the enviable rank of a professor in the nearest future, after already becoming a Ph.D holder.
Dr. Danja, a lecturer at the Bayero University Kano (BUK’s) department of Information and Media Studies, expressed joy that he was able to complete his Ph.D program within its stipulated duration and without any issue.

“Bagging a Ph.D is not a stroll in the park. One has to be very hardworking, dedicated and committed to embarking on and completing research works. During the time I was doing my Ph.D, I travelled to six different states across the geo-political zones. I also visited the three senatorial districts in Kano to conduct interviews, and surveys, among other things. Lest I forget, I also conducted numerous interviews and severally called erudite persons in the academia and professionals in the media industry through phones to interview them or seek their expert-opinions,” he said.
Dr. Danjo dislosed that there are positions in the university system that are unattainable for lecturers who are yet to get their Ph.Ds, emphasizing that he would focus his attention on writing articles for academic journals so as to actualize his dream of becoming a professor of Information and Media Studies.
