Over the years, Bayero University, Kano students had been living and used as scapegoat at Danbare and Rimin gata off-campuses. By strangers of the night who are disguising and cloaking as a students and perpetrating all manner of crimes, gamuting from prostitution and vending of psychoactive drugs etc.

Students live at the both areas because school management can not accommodate all the students admitted into the institution thereby seeking bivouac off-campus.

Female students are the most suffered victims of the societal scurrility and poor moral stigmatization.

A lot of houses at the environment were occupied by non-students who are also perceived as students by the general public thereby tarnishing the image of the students dwelling at the area.

The main passage of Danbare i.e the road facing the main gate of the school used to be busy by the hours of 8pm-2am with different exotic and classical vehicles, trooping in and out of the area.

Investigation revealed that, some houses at Danbare and Rimin Gata are serving as a lodge where the night strangers come to hide. Some of these houses are situated down the street of the main road to which the school gate is facing.
Malam Yahaya Basiru is a Caretaker at Danbare and confirmed to Infomedia that, “Apart from students, some individuals used to rent houses at the environment”.

In the same vein, a personnel with the Kano State Hisbah Board who spoke to Infomedia on condition of anonymity revealed that” Almost all the operation carried out by Hisbah at Danbare and particularly the one I was included, those arrested were mostly non-students”.
