Department of Information and Media Studies-Bayero University, Kano sets to launches online radio broadcasting next year. Dr. Nura Ibrahim made this known at the official unveiling of National Association of Information and Media Studies Students (NAIMSS), while making remarks on the history and successes recorded by the 3 years old department.
The online radio station is an audio service that uses the internet to disseminate information instead of traditional radio waves. The online radio station if launched by the Dept, will enhances both the teaching and learning by enabling students practice what they are learning in class.

Meanwhile, the paper lead presenter, Dr. Hassan Yau “Information and Media Studies: Career and the Prospect” highlights to the students some of the career opportunities that a graduating students stand a chance to benefit in the discipline which include: Internet Broadcaster, Book Publisher, Content Provider, An advertiser, Public Relation Practioner, Webmaster and host of other career opportunities brought by the emergence of ICT.
On the same vein, the National Association of Information and Media Studies conferred an award of excellence to the pioneer Head Dept of Information and Media Studies which was presented to him by Alh. Sa,ad Shehu Gidado (Wazirin Kano), who was ably represented by Alh. Dahiru Shehu Gida (Turakin Wazirin Kano).
