Students of Faculty of Social Sciences protest disappearance of their names on Directorate of Examination Admissions and Record(DEAR) list which automatically disqualified them from exercising their franchise right. This has resulted to dispute, disorder and social unrest at the poling unit.

Jacob David who has been on the queue since morning only to find out at about 3:30 that his name was not on the DEAR list expressed disappointment and lament shortcoming. He added that “the situation is very discouraging as many students who have their ID cards are unable to see their names. Especially those from level 1 and 2 respectively”.
Jacob further reveal that, there were some unanimous agreement by some agents who are of the view that the election should continue despite the fact that some students didn’t see their names on the Directorate of Examination Admissions and Record(DEAR) list.

A BUKIECO personel who crave anonymity confirmed to INFOMEDIA that, the list given to them by DEAR does not contain the names of some students and they have no power to allow the students to vote without their names being in the list.

All effor to reach the Registrar for further cclarificationon on this issue remain to no avail as at the time of compiling this report.
